Description

Juicy and flavorful BBQ chicken breasts cooked quickly and easily in the air fryer. Perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner or a quick meal anytime.

Ingredients

Scale

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 6 ounces each)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
Brush both sides of each chicken breast with olive oil.
In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
Cook the chicken breasts for 9 minutes.
Flip the chicken breasts over and brush the top side generously with barbecue sauce.
Cook for an additional 6 minutes.
Flip the chicken breasts again, brush the other side with barbecue sauce, and cook for 3 more minutes.
Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read 165°F (74°C). If not, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes as needed.
Remove the chicken breasts from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
