Description
Crispy and juicy chicken wings coated in a sweet and tangy honey BBQ sauce, perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients
2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed and wings separated into flats and drumettes
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup honey
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and olive oil. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
After 12 minutes, flip the wings and continue cooking for another 10-13 minutes until the wings are crispy and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
While the wings are cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce and honey until well combined.
Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the honey BBQ sauce over them. Toss the wings until they are fully coated with the sauce.
Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your crispy, sweet, and tangy honey BBQ chicken wings.
