Description

A simple and delicious baked cod recipe featuring tender white fish fillets baked in a rich and tangy lemon butter sauce. Perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cod fillets (6 ounces each), skinless and boneless
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and place them in a single layer in a baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to mix.
Drizzle the lemon butter sauce evenly over the cod fillets.
Drizzle the olive oil over the fillets to help keep them moist during baking.
Bake the cod in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Remove the baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the fillets.
Serve the baked cod immediately with your choice of side dishes.
