A simple and delicious vegan flatbread recipe that is soft, chewy, and perfect for wraps, dipping, or as a side to your favorite dishes.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir to mix evenly.
Add 3/4 cup warm water and 2 tablespoons olive oil to the dry ingredients.
Mix with a spoon or your hands until a dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a thin circle about 1/8 inch thick.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Place one flatbread in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form and the bottom has golden brown spots.
Flip the flatbread and cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
Repeat with the remaining flatbreads.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
