  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Description

A quick and flavorful Korean Ground Beef Bowl featuring savory marinated beef served over steamed rice with fresh vegetables and a spicy-sweet sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 cups cooked white rice
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup thinly sliced cucumber
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked ground beef and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Divide cooked white rice evenly among four bowls.
Top each bowl of rice with the Korean ground beef mixture.
Garnish each bowl with shredded carrots, sliced cucumber, green onions, and toasted sesame seeds.
Serve immediately.
