Soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies with slightly crisp edges, flavored with vanilla and loaded with semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract.
Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown but centers remain soft.
Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
