4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup water
8 ounces uncooked penne pasta
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
Add the sliced Italian sausage and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
