Description
A hearty and comforting one pot meal featuring ground beef and tender pasta cooked together with butter and simple seasonings for a rich, flavorful dish that’s easy to prepare and perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 cup water
8 ounces uncooked pasta (such as penne or rotini)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is softened, about 2-3 minutes.
Pour in the beef broth and water, then add the uncooked pasta, salt, black pepper, and dried Italian seasoning.
Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 12-15 minutes.
Remove the pot from heat and stir in the unsalted butter until melted and well combined.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and stir to incorporate.
Serve hot.
