  • Yield: 6 1x

Description

Tender, flavorful beef slow-cooked in a savory sauce and served on soft sandwich buns for an easy and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale

3 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed and cut into large chunks
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
6 sandwich buns, split
6 slices cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

Place the beef chuck roast chunks into the crock pot.
In a medium bowl, whisk together beef broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until well combined.
Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the beef in the crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the beef is very tender and easily shredded with a fork.
Remove the beef from the crock pot and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded beef to the crock pot and stir to coat with the sauce.
To serve, place a generous portion of shredded beef on the bottom half of each sandwich bun.
If desired, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover with the top half of the bun.
